My Style

As an artist based in Leicestershire I pursued my passion for painting, working in acrylics on stretched linen, board or paper. I exhibited widely in regional and Welsh galleries and attended art fairs selling original paintings, limited edition prints and cards.

Recently I have relocated to mid Wales where I continue to be inspired by my immediate surroundings, my style reflects my love of nature and masses of flowers. 

With observations and sketches I note the growth habit, forms and seasonal changes which provide valuable source material for future work. A small patch of a field, an overgrown verge, a derelict area all can be a spark of an idea for a painting. The elements which bind my work together are colour, texture and a unique unpredictability.

Painting in a looser style is a marked contrast to my formal studies in  textiles, ceramics and metalwork at the Lanchester Polytechnic Coventry; or the  detailed, physically demanding work of crafting traditional leaded panels and Tiffany style lampshades. My painting practice is mainly self-taught and formulated through experiments.

All original works are signed and certificated for authenticity. Prices range £200 - £650 depending on size, frame or unframed.
